Octopus Energy Generation (the 'Investment Manager') continues to develop its partnership with SUGi to plant 'pocket forests' across Europe and the UK. SUGi is a global environmental organisation and movement that helps deliver ecological restoration and movement that helps deliver ecological restoration projects around the world. It works with communities and partners to restore biodiversity and build climate-resilient urban green infrastructure. SUGi 'Forest Makers' follow a Japanese technique called the Miyawaki Method to create ultra-dense, biodiverse 'pocket forests' of native species. SUGi has a strong community focus, involving organisations, schools and communities in the planting and maintenance of the projects. This approach brings nature closer to people, helping to educate communities on the importance of biodiversity and inspiring the next generation to take a more active stance in its restoration.
